The Fashion of Canceling, New or Remodeled? | 5 Steps to Cancel The Canceling

The Fashion of Canceling, New or Remodeled? | Facing what technology shows about us.

Welcome to A Note For A Better Life.

I just remember so many things I used to listen to when I was younger. And I cannot put myself out of the crowd.

Of course the ugly about human is more and more out there, in our face. It doesn’t mean we are all ugliness. And this is the beauty of technology, no sarcasm here. All people that are searching to be better, need to face the collective mistakes too. Otherwise, would we notice our human flaws without technology?

Maybe one day, but this makes it quicker to get there.

We are not the canceling generation, we are facing the thing we were used to seeing as children, probably our parents too.

I am not saying this is right too, I am saying, stop pointing fingers.

I remember listening to things like:

Who are you to say that?

You are too young to opine about it.

He doesn’t know how to use the language correctly, how can I listen to him?

He doesn’t have a degree.

What is your surname?

You are just a dreamer.

And there are so many more things that are so usual that we don’t realize we are practicing the ‘canceling’. Nowadays people use groups to do this, but we learn this. People hardly learn to listen and give space to the other existence, and of course, this goes deeper in each of us in many different forms.

I saw a woman being canceled on TikTok and she was very upset because she had degrees in the subject and people were canceling her calling her stupid and all that, but for me, it was clear why. She was canceling many people for not having a degree. We don’t know everything, but when we are treated like dumb for not knowing we won’t be there to listen. (Most of us, at least). I don’t think she was an educator, so we can’t blame her for being a bit rude speaking and not knowing how to separate herself from the degrees she had, and I understand why, she worked hard to that she fells pride for them. But people weren’t canceling her in the beginning, but some ideas that are not so public made people go crazy against her and she was rude explaing it. (Even if was public ideas, nobody must know everything). Some people will disagree with the idea out of ignorance (be patient to explain) and some because normally there are different approaches and point of views in the world, even in the academic world, no matter how much you study a subject there will be people that see that in a different way and will have researchers proving something different of what you believe as though with few exceptions. (More exceptions, maybe all, are in the scientific field).

Well, and why all this post? To say the obvious we all know? Maybe. I am kidding.

To ask how to let go of it or not have this is your life, in our lives!

  1. There is much reason for someone to be stupid and rude, non will be because of you directly, even if the person directs the speak to your face. Guess what? Here ‘ego work’ works! When you put yourself out of the situation you notice the person had a bad day, a bad education (in the politeness aspect), the culture is different, they are very attached to be part of something, the need to get out of bad feelings putting down other, in other words, not treated psychological issues, big ego… It is never you. So relax and forget it.
  2. If you practiced canceling on a bad day, in a bad mood. Working is yourself go back in that canceling moment and look for the trigger. Self-knowledge will grow and even on a bad day, you won’t do it again.
  3. If you believe in one thing, if you are pro-something, study the other side. I had a teacher in college that would let you choose a side on a subject just to ask you to write against it, no matter what it was. So if you were pro-euthanasia, you should write against it and vice-versa. This taught me a lot about myself and the world.

A few days ago I learned about “spiritual” people, people that meditated and studied spirituality in the late XIX that supposedly had insights into superior people here on Earth. This idea came from a monk, a man that went to live in the woods to find knowledge and enlightenment, and another man that would study old books of different religions. Those men started to believe in the idea of a superior race. I didn’t find a connection between them but it was something that appeared when I was studying religions and spirituality in Vienna, soon I gave up to know more about that century(I canceled those crazy dead men). But that made me understand Nazism a bit more. Those ideas started to be accepted by the local elite, I didn’t find the connection either, but I don’t believe it was a coincidence. (Knowing this doesn’t justify it, just helps to avoid it). And I am saying that because if you learn both sides of everything, when is a bad thing you will know how to avoid it to happen again. And you can learn about yourself looking to the other, looking to the opposed idea, looking for what you don’t want. (We already talked about “shadow work”).

4. Learn to listen, not just to accept or change opinion, but to give space to others’ existence. Remember you are that person too, you have flaws, you have guilts, you are no better or worse. “If its sin is great, let your compassion be greater.” Ego work for that. (Not easy, I know).

5. Meditate. (Really Sherlock?) Well, what can I say? You need a those of calmness to be better, act better, and listen shit.

I hope this gives you a new way to observe your mistakes and others. Canceling can be good if used to make you healthier and calmer. Cancel the mind noises and judgments and you will see the wonders.

4 STEPS TO LET GO AND START TO FLOW | THIS WILL BE HARD

Let go of materiality is hard, if they say it is not, or they don’t know what they saying, or they didn’t it right. May not be for you yet and this is ok, but if you are ready start with those 4 steps to flow

Many, perhaps all, spiritual teachings teach us to be fluid. Fluidity brings calm, lightness, that smile on your face for no reason. But one of the main steps to develop this aspect is to practice the famous detachment, however, most of us practice superficially. Let’s be serious in this blog for once and talk about it.

We can easily understand philosophies like Taoism but live it is hard. We can understand we should give value to the ordinary and let the extraordinary come to us, detach to the material world but be here and experience it. For our mind, this is a pure contradiction however is where you will find fluidity.

Why is this hard?

When those philosophies talk about leaving the materiality we think about objects, mainly luxury or fashion, but it goes much further. People and animals around us in their material form are temporary too, and let go of them can be very difficult.

Love, but don’t cling.

This goes being the belief of souls and meeting those beings in another place. Understand that even if souls are reunited, little or nothing will keep them to go on together, everything would depend on the process of each soul. Then, if this is the truth of the beyond, it is a priority to be able to live with the idea of letting everything and everyone go.

Love, and don’t cling.

How?

  1. Imagine yourself as the creator of all this, look to your life, people, and objects around you. You created it all. You can’t stop them from evolving, learning, enjoying all the experiences. As the creator, you feel like a mother that wants the best for them, even if this means they live far away. You won’t block the path of that woman to find the person that will help her to improve you won’t stop that man from going because it is part of his process. This is a way to understand it, but can’t still be hard. You will need to find this is your process.
  2. I meditated into the love I felt for those beings. I gave myself in the meditations humbly. I imagine the best for their life, not judging the best, but seeing them happy, smiling, excited. The love grew and was simple.
  3. In another moment, a while after those meditations into love. I practiced imagining life without the people I love in deep meditation, the reality found in meditation made it hurt and heal their lack. I cried after meditate, and I did it more them once. I’ve already lost some of these people from my coexistence, I knew how to let go (after a few tears, of course), and there was love and gratitude for the time I had with them. I am not saying this is not hard, but it is needed.
  4. I meditated into the union. Even if you find the people you love in another life for a moment, if it’s better for them and you, you’ve gone different ways, but you’ll also be part of it, always. So I meditated on this.

But for the sake of you, start with objects. If they break, that’s fine. If you don’t work as before, recycle, if they don’t fit you, donate. Do this with more and more frequency.

This is a small past because I wanted to go straight to the point here. I hope this helps you.

Much Love,

E.M. Lopes

My First Manifestation as a Teenager | Teach your Kid to Manifest

I was 14 years old when I learned about Law of Attraction. Before The Secret exist I manifested for the first time. With pictures.

Hello again.
Today I want to share my first manifestation, attraction, whatever you want to call it. I was 14 years old, cute me. I want to share it because I have the art I used to manifest it. (It will be at the end of the post, but stay with me).

I already shared here that I was 14 years old, in a small town, sharing a bedroom with my brother. Mon and dad used to work and I would take care of him and myself while they were out. My home was a small apartment above a proper house. It had a living room that fits a small sofa for two, my parents’ bedroom, our bedroom, a kitchen from the middle 50s that was light blue, and a bathroom green and pink from the same period. It was next to a bar and a gas station, in front of a Mariola factory, (a banana sweet from Brazil), in the corner of the street we had the railroad. It was next to the city center at least. We didn’t hate it. My family always lived happily besides what we were going through.

But there I was, 14 years old learning about the power of the mind. A book of a priest that was at least controversial. I still practice a lot of the things I’ve learned. But I want to share with the photo below my first “conscious” manifestation. I don’t think it was conscious of the whole meaning of the word because I had other manifestations that I knew how it happened. That one I did I know it was because of my drawing, the time I put in that moment creating the experience I draw.
I was living sharing a room with my brother when we were a teenager. I wanted the princess bedroom for once, I wanted that experience before have my own house, and it was too late. Having a bedroom to myself and don’t have the worries of paying bills is something all teenagers should experience. (Manly if you are an introspective one).
So, one night I sit in front of my window and I draw a bedroom with one bed.
That was the drawing:

My own bedroom manifestation

At the end of the year, I moved to a big apartment in the city center with a bedroom for myself and one for my brother. I had a white bed with a big wardrobe and a dressing table. The bedroom was huge.
I wanted to share this because I few it can help you have ideas to direct your energy to manifest, and if you have kids you can teach them to manifest having fun.
As a young teenager, I used that inspirational moment to draw something I wanted, and then I didn’t look or think about it. I found that drawing years later. And I know one thing that doesn’t help us is to think about what we want.
Do you know those people that need to go back home many times to check if the door is locked? It is an energy that the person uses that won’t help anything, it spends energy for nothing. Thinking and asking for what you want over and over again is like repeat an action that is no longer needed spending energy for nothing.
It is hard, believe me, but it is needed to learn to do it.
Be as a child, simple, free, not thinking about the next moment.
I hope this makes your heart warm knowing you don’t need to fight more to have what you want, the actions needed like save money depending on what you want must be done with attention in the action for the action. You don’t need to keep remember your goal, mainly if it is painful.
Much love,
E.M. Lopes

How to Read More | Dos and Don’ts to Improve Your Reading

How to read more? How to add quality to your reading? (What I agree or don’t)

“Methinks my body is but the lees of my better being. In fact take my body who will take it I say, it is not me.”
(I believe that my body is just a shelter for my best being. In fact, let my body take whoever it wants because it is not me.) Herman Melville, Moby Dick

I was watching a video on YouTube about how to read more books. Great tips, but I couldn’t take it all.

Let’s talk about what I added to my life and I like:

One that I love and I started to use was the audiobooks. I had a preconception about audiobooks and e-readers, believe me. I was the “I need paper” person. And, of course, as I learn about my ego and sustainability I try to improve myself I search for ways to help the world and e-readers were no longer that bad, so I try to use less paper in my life. Audiobook was the next step because I could understand that knowledge is knowledge no matter how it comes. If you can learn listening it is not less than reading. We need to remember that read has its benefits for the brain, but if you read and want to grow the information coming to your life, read and listen it is a great way to do it. So I adapt myself to listen to books while I cook or before sleep and I love it. Try it!
I couldn’t agree that much.
I am reading Moby Dick and it took me a while, in the video, the idea of don’t bother to read those classics there is big made me uncomfortable because I learned so much with many of them. Sure, some I hated too. I am human, I have opinions and tastes and I can go against the majority of people sometimes. Or the critics at least. Think with me, if those books are considered classics, it must have a reason. And it is not the age of them because my grandmother had many old books there that weren’t considered classics and were forgotten with time. You can think of them as music, some music has decades, hundreds of years, and people still listen and remix them. So books, are like that music and it may take you longer to read but here we stay with the quality and not quantity. If I don’t read four books in a month because I took my time reading Tolstoy, I don’t care if at the end of the year I will read 10 books stead of 100. And here I want you to be open. Give yourself as much knowledge as you want, but remember to keep your ego away or you will be consumed by the comparison with others that read 360 books in a year. You don’t need to read more, you need to read enough. Enough for you to learn, to improve, to have a better life, to know more about what you want. You should not have the goal to know it all. It is not real or healthy.

Let’s talk about what I added to my life and I like:

After I said that, I agree with “don’t finish the book if you don’t like it”. I would recommend it better. Say to yourself, “it is not time to read it” and go back to it in few years. The guy in the video mentioned Moby Dick and Sapiens and I understand it is not easy book, the second one can be a book many people won’t like, will try again, and still don’t like it. But I would say, try more than one time in a different time of your life because there is so much on them.

Well, why all that explanation about books?

I will try to review some books that I read here with the concept of self-improvement, spiritual growth, and human knowledge, (or a vision of us). And many of the books I read are not in the self-help area, but directly and indirectly, talks about these cute little beings we are.

I WANT YOUR OPINION TO THIS:

I read all kinds of books and as an “ego breaker” I read books about different religions and cultures too. Would you like me to bring so of those books to this review too?
I just read a book about an African-Brazilian religion there isn’t in English and I don’t know if I would share it here since you won’t be able to read it unless you translate the book to English. But let me know, maybe can be curious, at least.

Much love to all,
E.M. Lopes

Expectation vs. Reality | 6 Ways to Deal with Expectation in the Real Life

Let’s talk about expectation, hermetic laws and life growth because we want to master it!!!

Hello again.

Reality versus expectation was, is, and will be an addiction to see online. Even though all these media are in our faces all the time, we still have difficulty dealing with them in life. Have you noticed it? Just me?

The worst part for me is when you know you expected something bad to happen and you still get upset or med. Why you do this with us? (That is the question of the time).

So, let’s recap a few things to do or not so we can break as much as we can of those expectations, then we will make a pact. (By the way, I am listening to Alanis Morissette writing it and I highly recommend you to listen to it while reading. Because you will love or hate it and you will be able to see what do you expected of the indication).

Expectation brings all the funny feelings that don’t help us. Stress, anxiety, sadness, and others, depending on if you pass the moment the expectation was waiting or you are before it.

So, maybe the romance becomes a necessity, intelligence becomes overpowering, calm becomes stillness. And I will need to prepare you here for the perspective we will take. I will talk more about hermetic laws in another post, but here I will talk about the perspective of the law of vibration, the third law of hermeticism.

But what is it? There are more laws involved, but being practical, everything is in movement, this includes you, the music that plays to you, the news on your mobile phone… And what you are will bring to you things that vibrate the same. Let’s think that everything that happens, happens because of you. That the reality you notice is yours, and yours only. We will need to take this as true here, you can and must disagree, but to this post let’s go with it ok?

So, everything that happens is a reflex of what we are. And maybe won’t be easy for to you access everything you are, everything you received once as information. Because millions of things happen every second and our conscious mind won’t be able to show everything, so many things will be under the carpet. So, Am I saying we need self-knowledge? Yes. It is one step because if you look into learning about your beliefs and fears and all that may be in the shadows you may be able to change what you are and your reflection as consequence. Be conscious is hard, but will be the biggest step, it is a clear job of change the vibration. (I am not a fan of those exoterical words like vibration either, but let’s put the ego away to keep going).

So we know that even if you already felt disappointed you can learn about yourself. You can stop and ask yourself why am I feeling this way? Ow, it is because of that. But I wanted this, or something similar. Maybe I don’t, maybe I fear it and this is happening. You will find your narrative with the past event and luckily learn about yourself. Am I saying that secondly, you should use every moment we feel something to understand more about what we are? Yep!

Well, but how can I avoid expectation without letting myself in complete indifference of the world? Because I know if I go here or there I am being impacted by the world and if I and doing the jog I will impact and probably get what I work for. But how to not fall into expectation before something, mainly something I want. How to want without expecting? (And that is the million-dollar question).

Imagine this scenario:

  1. You will wake up on the new moon day and work with this energy to ask what I want. Go for it, you may imagine a crazy scene. You do your magic at the right time, with the right amount of energy. You felt assertive and happy, you enjoy the practice because you feel focused and complete. You used water or a plant, or fire or wind or all elements. Or maybe, you don’t think about all those symbols, you just set and put intention. You felt good!
  2. You wait for a sign in that same day, you look everywhere. Maybe the time will be with repeated numbers. But you looked so many times that even if it happened you doubt if the sign was real. It is night and nothing, you sleep and the dream is crazy, no clue. Maybe I should do it again. Maybe I need to ask harder.
  3. I did, I asked harder. But I feel weird. But it will work. Nothing happens and without you realize, the expectation threw the bait on step 2 and you are still obeying it.
  4. It doesn’t work.

No see the scenario without expectation:

  2. You feel good!
  3. You feel good!
  4. You got it!

It is the simplicity of living life that makes life worth living. I listened on the movie The Way the quote “you don’t choose a life, you live it”. When you try to be something is when you lose your life, the power of being lays in the present and can not be ignored if you want to become a master in manifestation. And, when I talk about the hermetic laws you will understand more about it.

The anchor you find to the present moment will help you get deep in the power of being a master and not a follower, don’t get me wrong, you will still be an apprentice and this is different to be a follower. Even if you find a master out of yourself, a guru, it will keep you as a follower until you discover your power. It will keep putting you on tests until you understand recognize the master inside you, then it will be able to treat you as an apprentice.

How to be present, you asked?

  1. Music
  2. Write
  3. Breath
  4. Meditate
  5. Watch a movie
  6. Read

All those actions must be followed by attention, if you watch a movie without attention on you and in the movie change the action. You can be present brushing teeth because it has so many different sensations in this action. The freshness of the toothpaste, the temperature of the water, the brush bristles in your teeth, your tongue, and your gum, the sound of the water or in the brushing. When a simple moment like this is a moment of anchor, man, you went far! I am happy for you!

Well, I hope this post helps you understand more what you should study and that we will only use expectations to laugh at memes online. I will recommend this book so you can learn more about this philosophy: hermeticism

Much love,

Emanuelle Lopes

Why you do what you do? | Not my idea to improve yourself

Do you know why you are doing what you do? Do you feel motivated to work? Do you like your job? Are you a good boss? Let’s understand why we do what we do a bit more.

Hello again.
Today I want to share a vision that it is not mine, but from a Brazilian professor and doctor. He studied philosophy and has work in many areas. He worked with companies, public organizations, and in the education area. And today I am here to share some thoughts about his book “Why do we do what we do?”. Sadly I think all books are in Portuguese only, but let’s share some of his ideas here.

This book, and why I love this guy, talks about the obvious seeing by a not at all obvious way and you can see it in the title.
Ask yourself more often: why you do what you do?
He brings these questions to companies so they can understand the employee. And for you, as a worker for someone else (or self-employed) understand more about your doings. The big break of his idea is that we need to recognize ourselves in something we create. And being very summarized here, even if you work for someone else, if you don’t see something being born because of your work you probably won’t be happy with it. Of course, he brings to the table that even if you do what you love, you won’t love everything you do. I love to write, I hate to correct what I write and read many times the books and post to find mistakes on it. In my life, the challenge in this aspect makes me like more to write in English even though I probably commit more errors. But this is a rare cause. I understand that writers prefer to write in their mother languages, it is not my case, but either way, it is boring to read and read again. I must confess that I take more time with my books than here, not because I don’t love you, but this blog I feel more relaxed. The idea of it brings the concept of share evolution and experiences in my life and how I did it. And as my English is not perfect, this blog has space to not be perfect and people there are or not perfect are welcomed here. So, it fits here to be more relaxed. It fit here to have less stiffness so we can be closer walking this path of us together even though it will be different for everyone.

As I always say, I am here not to share ideas as a Master but to help people find their own master. So here we are normal people sharing and learning… or not.

So why you do what you do?
He explores some aspects like a necessity, many things we must do because we have necessities in a group or as an individual. Some we do because we like to do it. I do this blog for free, I didn’t monetize this blog yet purely because I forget it, but I didn’t. Well, focus guys. We do what we like and the motivation is there normally because you recognize yourself in the job. And if you do automatic work you feel like a robot. By the way, he loves to show the etymology of words and connect with the new learning and robot comes from the Czech word robota, which means forced labor.
Everything influence this way of living, of course. It won’t be the same for a person born in a poor place, (pour in the sense of material life support or lack of support to develop a material life), this person may be more aware of the necessity because of reflection of its reality. A person born with basic things like education, health insurance, and food may not understand and see itself working for necessity. It seems obvious, but it goes deeper in each of us. Because you can be born in the first situation and break the rule when you ask why you doing what you doing?
This brings me to a police officer that became a bit famous on Brazilian social media because he talks with the person he arrests and many others perception,.I can’t talk much about him because I honestly didn’t search much, but I remember a video where he was talking with a young man doing the math about what he robbed and the years he can be locked. The conversation is sincere and shows the guy it wasn’t worth it. As the conversation goes it is clear the guy didn’t put much thought into why he was doing what he was doing, it was not like he was doing it because he needed food at home. He did have a simple life and a lack of structure, but he wasn’t aware even if that act was because of a necessity. Of course, I am here giving an example that brings many and many sociological and psychological problems, I broke it to the simplicity of a question that may help us looking to improve, but it is NOT the reason we have social problems and I hope you understand it in the extreme example.

So, ask yourself and write it down what you do because you like and what you do because you have the necessity. See the balance on it, if it has. You may find what you like to do and find a way to do it more, and you may notice that old believe like “work to my children don’t need to work as I do” be a reason to do the necessities. In the book, the child questions their parents why they work so much and don’t enjoy life, they say it is necessary so he doesn’t need to work as much but that the main idea is that he will do the same to his children. But this generation doesn’t want to do this, because we want to be better as parents being more present and live more this life. We want to have time to work and have time to spend with our children now, not later, or just to let the next people in my family do it. We see less necessary to have more and more necessary to experience more, to live, to enjoy life. But, this is a talk to another moment.

For now, give yourself time to do what you like, to enjoy the people you love and, of course, understand that some work will be part of some necessity and that is ok.

Much love,
EmMa Lopes

Challenge of Challenges | The New Trend Online That Will Change You

Challenges are the new trend, but how it can benefit you? You didn’t think about it? 10 challenges to start be your better version

Hello Again.

I was putting myself in a new challenge this month, and I thought about this new trend of challenges online.

Be able to accomplish something was always fun for me, yes fun. But I was never competitive with others. So, this type of challenge we see nowadays was my thing growing up. The capacity to prove yourself as better than your old self and keep evolving and keep achieving what you put your mind on was the drug that made me better.

And today I want to share a few things about my experience that may help you.

Those challenges are not silly, they may appear but any challenge, even the silliest one will make you think creatively at least.

Years ago, I remember choosing some food I loved and promised myself to stay a year without it, of course, it wasn’t something healthy. (It was some kind of Oreo biscuit). After that, I didn’t mind that snack anymore and it was so easy after I put my mind on it that I asked myself What more can I do?

A year without french fries, a summer without ice-cream… If you read some of my posts you may notice I had a problem with my weight and food. I used to eat chicken, potato, beans, and rice basically. So, those challenges made me look at food differently. At some point, I realized I could put some new flavors into my diet. I went to “my palate was made like this I can’t do anything” to have a completely different diet. Nowadays my diet is based on vegetables and I would not believe it if someone told me this 10 years ago. Me, eating my vegetable, b*. Many changes happened with this new consciousness. I started to care more about my part in this world, and here I am not telling you how to act. As I always say, each path is different, do you and try to be better than yesterday. And I am not saying it is easy or fast, I do this since I remember.

A few years ago I asked any higher intelligence or energy to help me improve and be more aware of my impact or power. I want to be better and act better in my life. Whatever that means. With all my growth, some challenges appeared like wake up before sunset. And I challenged myself to it. Or work out for 30 days at home in this pandemic, and I did it, I am doing it for the last 8 months. I never felt better in my body.

I lost myself and find myself many many times, but here are the thins. I am not competing with anyone, and I don’t have a time set to finish and deliver myself perfectly. This is not for my mind, not for me to feel better than others, not for me to create a new ego. Those challenges you see online and I recommend you to try it (since is not something you will put your life in danger). Those challenges are ways to you see your capability and help you be better, feel better.

Remember, you are a trinity. Challenge your body to be better, challenge your mind to be healthier, challenge your soul to be more connected. But, if I can give you any advice, Make it Fun!

Challenges I recommend:

  1. Stop eating for a year some food that has a lot of food or/and fat. French fries, chips, pizza, cookies… One thing you love, that you are used to eating.
  2. 30 days of and exercise. 100 Bridges a day, Bully Juice 30 days exercise, Chloe Ting 30 days challenge. Pick anything and do it for 30 days.
  3. Wake up at 4:30. Yep, I did it and I recommend it. But plan what to do for yourself. Read, meditate, exercise… It may sound obvious, but just to be sure, you will need to sleep earlier to do it.
  4. Finish a book in a period of time smaller than you ever did. If you never read a complete book, you have 30 days!
  5. 21 days of Law of Attraction, and I will be rude here. I don’t care if you believe it, do it for the sake of the good practices there are in it. Thank you. (I am kidding, but seriously, from love practices to meditation, this is a great challenge). https://anoteforabetterlife.wordpress.com/2020/04/21/21-days-law-of-attraction-challenge-in-process-do-it-with-me/
  6. Meditate 10 minutes twice a day. I will be sweet here. There is no problem if those minutes you feel bored since you stay 10 minutes observing your thoughts that will be a great start.
  7. Learn something in 30 days. A basic level of a new language, a new skill, you choose. Udemy, Skillshare, even Youtube can teach you something nice. I would recommend financial courses nowadays.
  8. Write. Journaling for 30 days can help you keep track of some aspect of you. You can take notes of what you grateful for or your dreams, or your thoughts when you wake up.
  9. Do something physical for 30 days or in 30 days that you think you wouldn’t. Exercise doesn’t count but can be a sport. So, it doesn’t need to be an exercise but can be something that will count as an extra exercise. Camp, 30 days of a cold shower, climb a mountain with a professional, learn to stand up paddleboarding. I didn’t know to ride a bike. Pick your challenge.
  10. Challenge yourself every month to start a new challenge.

I hope this helps you give the first step to enjoy yourself more.

Much Love,

How to do Ego Work | 3 Steps to Be More You and Less Your Ego.

3 subjects that will help you see your attachment with Ego and change it. With practical ideas.

Hi.

Here I am to share something that I would love to receive. Steps to notice how your ego is controlling you and how to remove those ideas of you.
I want to be straightforward here, and before starts, I just want to remember. Ego, it is not all bad, and you don’t need to get rid of all of your beliefs or attachments at once. For example, with good and bad to our society you may want to kill someone and don’t worry about it, and here is where the ego must be alive. I am not saying to kill something crazy reader. But to stop to see someone that committed a crime as all bad and, after much more than ego work, realize how your compassion even with those people can make your life and others live better.

Things that might trigger your ego.

  1. Music. Do you love some band and hate or think some band or singer is bad or lame? Ask yourself why. This is your ego talking, you know that but since it is quite a small thing, maybe you never want to change your taste or thought it would be necessary. You can keep what you love, but for a week, twice in the year at least, try to listen to songs you would never and try to enjoy them. How? Listen to them with your mind empty, no judgments are allowed. You may not enjoy and move to the next music, and you may see yourself dance a bit and that’s ok. Even if you fear people judging you, you must not fear your judgment because towards your it shouldn’t exist.
  2. What is your team? Any sport. Maybe you don’t love any but you hate a lot one. Be honest with yourself. Write the name and ask why? What bothers you? Here I want you to search a little bit of egregore. (Just for curiosity I let one of the meanings you can find only, but study it, please. Egregore: “An egregore (pronounced egg’ gree gore) is a group thought-form. It can be created either intentionally or unintentionally and becomes an autonomous entity with the power to influence. A group with a common purpose like a family, a club, a political party, a church, or a country can create an egregore, for better or worse depending upon the type of thought that created it.”). The work here is to find a player that has a good character from the team you hate and cheer for him. Be honest here, write how it felt, it wasn’t so honest to try again. Do this when your team is not playing. After you are able, to be honest about it cheer against your team. Try to be honest here and I know this can be very hard. If your team starts to win a lot, write it down too. Write all the experience. Next year, try don’t watch it and don’t care about that news. Find another job, relax, it won’t be forever and you probably won’t have much problem with it depending on where you are in your spiritual journey.
  3. What your favorite food? What you wouldn’t eat ever? Here baby, even I can’t be that evolved with my ego. Here is where my ego stays a bit and I am ok with it. And you may think, “so I will keep with my team b*”. However, here is the thing. Any subject you work to improve your ability to be more you and less your ego, and, for this, be more aware and present here and now. Must not be a problem or cause a problem to you or others. If these passion/beliefs of yours may block different experiences, or your ability to live life in the present moment. For example, if you cannot have a date because it is game night, this is a problem. If you can’t have fun at a barbecue with your friends because you are vegan, this is a problem. And, remember, I am talking about Ego Work here. The ego likes to be in the extreme, if you can find the middle, probably you have something that can be a problem. I am walking to be vegan for years now, I still each cheese. Check packages to see if it is vegan is not a habit yet. I try to improve my way of living without becoming an extremist around any subject and this brings so many other ideas that won’t fit here. Why am I trying to be vegan? Why do I think it is important? How it will be good for me and the planet?… All that is something for me to grow. For me, it is a personal subject that I don’t want to talk about, but I see people that do it very gracefully and others that I want to slap. This personal example makes me come here and say, don’t go to war for anything, be more Madre Teresa about your ideas. You don’t need to be a saint, but you can use some good ideas of people that made some good on this planet. (Actually you can use good ideas even from people that made a lot of bad things, good and bad it is not exclusive from one person or another. We are not in a Disney movie with villains. I know you know that). So, what is the work for us here? If you are vegan, you will choose a week of the year to eat animal products, remember, this is about ego work. This post doesn’t relate to other’s spiritual evolutions that you may learn that vegan standards are better to work with some energies and all. This is to you lose the attachment of your dualistic ideas as of right and wrong, good and bad… And if you eat animal products, it will be more than a week for you. Why? The impact caused for animal products is bigger so your body needs more time to feel comfortable with other realities. I would recommend a month or more with no animal products. If you are religious, you can find the period of a year that your religion asks for this practice and use some egregore to help you. For example, for 40 days Catholics should not eat meat before East, not very common nowadays, but it was a strong practice a long time ago.

I can speak more about what I’ve learned and practice the topic. I feel this is very important to grow compassion, love, presence in our lives. So, for me, it is a pungent subject. How do you feel about ego work? What have you learned?

Much love,
Emanuelle Lopes

Ego – 3 facts they don’t share + 5 Questions to do

Kill the ego! What they don’t say about the ego? What is it? How to identify your ego?

Hello, how are you?
Today I want to talk about an insight + some knowledge gained about ego.
What is the ego, by the way? I found a few meanings to share here with you crazy souls:
Cambridge dictionary says: “the part of a person’s mind that tries to match the hidden desires (= wishes) of the id (= part of the unconscious mind) with the demands of the real world”, similarly with Google dictionary. Or “your idea or opinion of yourself, especially your feeling of your importance and ability”.
Yoga may say: Ahamkaraor ego is the sense of ‘I-ness’, the over-identification with this ‘I-ness’ to the point that we become very affected by the experiences and thoughts that this ‘I’ has.”

Let me simplify and ask 5 things. Think about each area of your life:
1.Answer Who am I?
Your ego will respond. It is the one answering and the answer itself.
-I am a father/mother
-I am an engineer.
-I am Swedish.
-I am new/old.
-I am beautiful/ugly.
You can go further:
2. Answer: What is right?
-Right/left
-Democrats/Communists
-Eat animal/Eat animal but sacred ones/Eat just vegetables
-Have a wife/Have two wives/Have none.
-Use social media/Don’t use social media.
-Drink alcohol/ Don’t drink alcohol
3. Answer: What you can and cannot do?
-I can walk/I cant fly.
-I can be loved/I cannot find someone
-I can grow and be sucessful/I cannot do something right
-I can learn/I will never learn
4.Answer: How things happen or can happen?
-I work hard/I manifest
-I let go/I get focus (obsessed?) – My life, you know it!
-I go out/It will knock at my door.
-I will make it happen/I do my best and let the rest happen.
5.Answer: How I feel and why?
-I feel happy/I feel bored -Sorry about that…
-I feel motivated/I feel stuck…

All expression of I is the ego, and only it. I already talked about the movie Soul and I highly recommend it again. You can read more about Ego in this blog and how to lessen its effect.

But let’s talk about what people don’t say.
One day I was in my German class, where I learned nothing, Ich spreche kein Deutsch don’t worry. And the husband of my teacher told me a story about a man that receives monks in his house and at the end of their stay he asked for a blessing in his life to him be happy. Six months later he divorced, lost his job, and was no longer living in that house. For my husband’s teacher, it was a terrible thing what happened. However, I understand the monks’ happiness. The first step to meet happiness is to lose the ego. A good part of it, at least. So you can meet your real self, then be happy. And this happiness wasn’t like the one you knew before. You won’t even feel it, it will be something you cannot describe in the reality, at least.
But the thing people don’t say, or it is rare to listen, is that you don’t need to let go of all your I. Nor even fight with your mind. For me, it is more important and the big first step to being aware of the ego. Answer those questions, read more about ego, meditate more, be more present and you will learn about it.
Your mind is not your enemy, you may have a big problem dealing with it. Anxiety, depression, and any mental disturbance are the name to say you have a problem dealing with your mind.
This is a blog post, let’s be real here, I will give you two things to do to start to help you, but you must look for a professional to help your relationship with your mind.
You can start here:
1.Treat your mind as a beautiful servant, not your boss anymore. Observe if your mind is saying “I must do it because of this”; “I can’t do it because of this”, “I will eat it because of this”, “I won’t eat it because of this”, “I go there because of this”, “I will never put my foot there because of this” try to observe as an outsider if your ego is trying to make you obey it, instead of the silence within dictate your will. (There are posts about will, inspiration, and intuition here too). Observe how you feel, it is just a sensation or emotion caused by your thoughts.
2.Be a friend with your mind. Some people call this confused mind, the mind that goes every place, like chaos, give attention to everything but what you want to, monkey mind. Try to be friends with the monkey. Calm down it, be grateful and it helps you, create a relationship with it instead of fighting against its nature. It is a big relief when you stop to worry about what you are thinking and start to observe it, comprehend it.
3.Kill the ego may not be a possibility. Of course, clean the house is important, have a “minimalist ego”, where most of your believes and attachments no longer exist. This is healthy and it will help you keep growing, unlocking new superpowers and that beautiful way of living. And, maybe won’t be easy, probably to be honest. But it worth it.

I hope you enjoy this post,
much love.

How Differences Arise and How not to Polarise them | A Insight Dream

I had a dream where be different is the only way to survive. And if it was truth?

Hello again.
Today I will do something different, something I never did. If you read my blog, you know that I already talked about night dreams and how you can find online tools that Neuroscience knows to train yourself to remember them and develop others’ skills towards these moments of unconsciousness. Well, that said I remembered many of my dreams, and a dream yesterday made me have this need of sharing it.
I already said that all beliefs and situations we live in just say something about your reality. In other words, even if you live something, don’t think it is the only truth, even less the absolute universal truth. And here I start to share this dream:

A young woman, maybe 2 or 5 years younger than me, a man that I felt the existence but didn’t see and I was on a stage, something like a big theater where we were sharing some insights. She was talking about her experience of serving and how this humbled people and it was a great way to achieve this simpler way of living and experience life.
In my conscious being remember the dream, I agree, but in the dream…

She happily finished her talk, and I said very calmly.
“Well, that’s not all correct. Each experience, each being will have your own way of discovering Itself. Maybe it is a great adventure serve, but receive is the great difficulty we have. It is here where the hardness may humble us. Many people will find happiness while they serve something or someone, but receive is where many developments can be made. Of course, since it is different for each of us it may be just my experience on this planet that happened differently since for me was very hard to feel good receiving something. As if I was God myself, I felt like I should take and create all by myself. All my years of faith were suddenly unnecessary because when I should gratefully receive I felt less, guilty, not worthy of it, or that it wasn’t necessary. The serving was easy for me, in completely honest I know one could feel better serving someone with less something this material world stipulates, or a few less if I was serving someone with more of this. Money, beauty, properties, friends, fame, feelings control, “illumination”.”Whatever it is that one can feel the other has or is more or less can make the service put one in a different position as one sees oneself. But I can say I felt the same, equal, easily. When I served, it was with grace. When I had less, I receive more because my equal feeling made me honestly devoted to doing my best, when I had more I didn’t expect to receive something because I was genuinely serving the other. But receive… Receive was another thing. When I did a good job and I was awarded I felt stupid to have to be rewarded, when I receive my asking for God I couldn’t feel like it was right because I didn’t work with my hands to that when I receive from my own job, I felt like it was too much and even if something was wrong I wouldn’t complain. Even working hard, studying hours, improving myself constantly, I wasn’t worthy to receive. When I see someone openly receiving something and being honest with one development I feel so happy for the person, praying that one day I will be like that. I don’t mind when someone smart receives its glories and says “I know I did a great job” when someone becomes a music start I don’t think it wasn’t humble the person says “I did it, I feel awesome that I didn’t give up”, when someone beautiful says “Thank you, I know I am” I feel that it is amazing that the person receives this blessing of God openly. We all should receive those gifts openly because we all can achieve something, we all can thrive without giving up, we all are beautiful creatures of Father… And Mother. (Small laugh in the public). So, we can learn to be humble in many different ways. Your inner Master and the only one you should follow and hear taught you to be humble through service, my Master taught me through receiving. And now and here in this stage, the world is balanced. (we all laugh a little).
Any time you think someone is arrogant because the person assumes its own gains, gifts and rewards ask yourself why can I not feel “Yess… You go man”? Are you pushing God’s gift so hard that you feel jealous of those that accept? Do you think that the person receives too many too easily? Are you jealous? A better question? Are you able to receive it? (silence)
Good, silence always brings new insights.”

The other woman smiled at me. She was in her grace I could see. The talk continued while I shifted to another dream, but this one I won’t share.

I hope you have a blessed weekend.
Much love from me, EmMa Lopes
